- Nu Image/Millennium and Lionsgate will produce yet another Hollywood remake of Conan the Barbarian called--uniquely--Conan. Brett Ratner is in final negotiations to direct it. The producers are envisioning something very R-Rated with an approximate $85 million budget. My Take: Very R-rated will only get them adult fans. If they want to franchise it, make it appeal to a wider audience.
- Quantum of Solace hits $160.3 million internationally, and it has yet to launch in it still hasn't opened in Australia, Japan, Mexico and Spain (and here). My Take: With all the incredibly cheesy movies out right now, why are they making us wait for this one?
- Joe Johnston (Wolfman) is set to direct First Avenger: Captain America. He has previously directed Jumanji, Jurassic Park III, The Rocketeer, and Honey, I Shrunk the Kids. My Take: Marvel is thinking. They've gotten a director who knows how to appeal to both kids and adults.
